Damper Bread Recipe Cheese Bacon And Chives
Damper Bread Recipe – Cheese Bacon and Chives looks super easy, delicious and sure to win the kids over for when camping. After a bit of for thought this might be a good recipe to make the night before camp pack up for breaky. This recipe has two positives that I can foresee,
- it’s one way to make sure that everyone is feeling energised.
- a great way to use up the left-over ham/bacon, cheese etc
Few easy steps to follow. Use a camp oven or a Bedourie oven to make this.
Damper Bread Recipe – Cheese Bacon and Chives
Ingredients:
- 2 cups Self raising Flour (if you only have plain flour then add 2 Teaspoons)
- 3 tablespoons of melted butter
- 200 mls of Milk
- 2-3 middle rashes diced bacon (loin bacon if possible)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (Tasty, your choice really)
- 2 Tablespoons chives
- Pinch of Salt and Pepper
Combine all ingredients in bowl for knead dough around 5 minutes.
Shape dough, lightly oil the dough, score top, and place into camp oven.
Cover the oven with lid and place oven to the side of coals, cover lid in some coals and then bake for around 20 minutes. Cool and devour at leisure:)
Might also like to have it with something like Kangaroo in qandong chilli glaze or a good old fashioned Hobo Stew.
